Gila County

Gila County covers 4,752 square miles. Both desert terrain and mountain ranges spread across Gila County's landscape. The elevations range from 2,000 to 7,000 feet above sea level. This height difference of 5,000 feet provides for a wide variety of economic activities ranging from ranching and lumbering to tourism and recreation. These four areas of commerce, in addition to copper production, comprise the county's major industries. Portions of Gila County are an Enterprise Zone, which can mean substantial tax savings for businesses that meet the qualifications of this State tax incentive program.
