EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

 

Northern Gila County Economic Development Corporation (NGCEDC) interviewed twenty-seven retail, tourism and service businesses in Payson over a two-month period from November through December 2007. The data was collected through confidential, on-site interviews using a comprehensive survey instrument (CRTS, version 1.0 developed by Blane, Canada Ltd.) and entered into a secure database for analysis. Descriptive business information was generated relative to a) product or service, b) workforce, c) community, d) technology, e) management, f) community service and g) utility services. The quantifiable, objective data provided by the CRTS instrument allows NGCEDC to assess the economic health of Payson’s business community, which is important for the successful retention and expansion of businesses in this area.
