In the Payson Region, you'll find a business environment that's suited for growth. Branches of major national banks offer business financing programs that can be found in major metropolitan areas. Local, smaller banks cater to the regional economy and also offer competitive programs. Five full-service banks and four mortgage banking offices in Payson provide services to businesses in the region.

Industrial Development Authority

The Town of Payson established an Industrial Development Authority in 1983 to promote industry, develop trade, and provide for a clean environment by creating incentives for manufacturing, industrial, and commercial enterprises to locate in the Town of Payson. Gila County also has an IDA.

The IDA also may assist in the rehabilitation, expansion, and development of all kinds of businesses and industries, which will assure economic development and job opportunities in Payson.

The Authority is authorized by Arizona state law to provide tax-exempt financing for projects falling within the limits of its responsibility. The Payson Regional Economic Development Corporation will assist businesses considering relocating in Payson to determine how they might benefit by IDA financing.

Small Business Development Center

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Gila Community College is available to assist businesses with SBA loans, loan applications and other financial needs. The SBDC also provides free counseling services in areas such as business planning and workforce development.
